KEBIJAKSANAAN peserta memanfaat dan memaksimumkan penggunaan ruang terhad hingga menjadi hiasan dalaman sempurna dan selesa diduduki menjadi faktor utama menentukan kemenangan empat juara kategori Pertandingan Rumah Idaman Berita Minggu 2009.
Hamidon berkata, melalui pengamatannya, peserta dilihat berjaya menata gaya ruang sempit menggunakan perabot besar dalam bilangan separa lengkap untuk digandingkan dengan kemasan serta aksesori merujuk gaya dan konsep.
“Saya amat kagum keberanian juara kategori apartmen, Khadijah Ibrahim meneroka gaya Eropah yang berciri sarat dan mewah meskipun ruang kediamannya tidak seluas mana. Bukan senang melakukan transformasi ruang jika gaya berkenaan menjadi pilihannya.
“Namun, dia berupaya membuktikan kepakaran hiasnya menggunakan peruntukan ditetapkan. Nilai kesungguhan serta daya kreativiti warga emas ini wajar diberi pengiktirafan,” katanya mengagumi hiasan mewah berupa kertas dinding bertekstur, cat dinding warna garang selain aksesori manik, renda dan keemasan diutarakan pemilik rumah.
“Bukan sekadar perabot dan kemasan menjadi tarikan bahkan ilham kreatif Khadijah menokok tambah hiasan manik, tasel dan renda di sesetengah perabot, menyiapkan sendiri lakaran bunga penghias almari serta kabinet selain mengubahsuai fungsi perabot menjadi dwi kegunaan,” katanya.
Mengenai kediaman sama, seorang lagi juri, Pensyarah Reka Bentuk Dalaman di Fakulti Seni Bina dan Persekitaran Binaan Universiti UCSI, Ariff Budiman Mohamad menyifatkan penyatuan pelbagai elemen hias ilham pemilik rumah memungkinkan pembentukan gaya serta tema individualistik.
“Dalam perbualan dengan Khadijah, saya dapati beliau jelas dengan cita rasa serta konsep pilihannya. Apatah lagi, beliau kerap melayari internet bagi mendapatkan gambaran terperinci selain mencari idea baru konsep penataan yang diminatinya itu,”kata Ariff yang berpeluang mengikuti sesi lawatan membabitkan dua rumah pemenang di Pandan Indah serta Ipoh, Perak.
Menyentuh keistimewaan Teres di Ipoh itu, Ariff menyifatkan pemiliknya Rodzi mempunyai kredibiliti seni pertukangan setanding tukang kayu profesional namun pada masa sama berupaya mengekalkan ilham asli dan jati diri.
“Rodzi bagaimanapun maju setapak kerana menjadikan barangan antik sebahagian kelengkapan rumah. Bukan sekadar hiasan tetapi semua koleksi antiknya seperti suis lampu, kipas, radio sehingga loceng tekan di tembok pagar berfungsi dengan baik.
“Saya mengagumi usaha serta bakat beliau yang mampu menghidupkan kembali pengaruh rumah kolonial Inggeris era 1960-an dulu. Lebih menarik, ia dizahirkan dengan belanjawan sederhana namun yang dikagumi ialah kegigihan Rodzi mencari dan mengumpulkan barangan antik seperti kayu terpakai daripada bangunan, jambatan dan tiang elektrik lama, perkakasan elektrik zaman penjajahan British dan sebagainya,” ujarnya yang teruja dengan selak kayu berpalang dan ukiran ambang pintu serta tingkap dihasilkan pemiliknya.
Sementara itu, keupayaan Rosliza merealisasikan imaginasi kediaman ala rumah peranginan pada teres semi-D miliknya ternyata merentap tumpuan juri.
Hamidon menyifatkan penggunaan bahan kayu selaku tunjang dan struktur binaan rumah tradisional di halaman sisi bukan saja mengembalikan seni pusaka bangsa, tetapi memecah tradisi landskap seni bina rumah kawasan taman perumahan.
“Adaptasi rumah kampung Melayu berbaloi dihayati apabila diseragamkan dengan suasana santai, kontemporari dan minimum dari aspek dekorasi. Rosliza bertuah kerana ‘mendapat’ semula rumah kampung yang pernah menjadi tempat tinggalnya ketika kecil dulu,” katanya mengulas kemenangan Rosliza untuk kategori ekslusif.
Kesungguhan Shahril Suleiman mempertahankan keaslian seni bina rumah pusaka keluarganya di Batu Pahat membawa tuah apabila anak muda itu terpilih sebagai juara kategori rumah warisan.
Malah, kreativitinya menyelitkan ilham hias moden di ruang tertentu kediaman menaikkan ‘saham’ rumah itu di mata juri sekali gus melayakkannya memungut markah tinggi ketika sesi penilaian.
Inisiatif menyatukan elemen moden-klasik dilihat Hamidon sebagai percaturan berani kerana bukan semua rumah seperti itu mampu bekerjasama baik dengan gaya dan unsur hiasan moden.
“Keaslian rumah berjaya dipelihara dan dipertahankan biarpun sesetengah ruang sudah mempraktikkan hiasan kontemporari. Namun, yang mengejutkan saya Shahril amat menyayangi dan menghargai himpunan antik tinggalan keluarganya.
“Saya dapati semua kelengkapan antiknya dijaga rapi dan dimanfaatkan kegunaannya. Biarpun dimamah usia namun berada dalam keadaan baik dan cantik dipandang,” katanya.
Selain empat pemenang kategori, Hadiah Khas Juri diwujudkan bagi memberi pengiktirafan kepada peserta berbakat istimewa di kalangan golongan profesional termasuk arkitek, pereka hiasan dalaman, pensyarah serta pelajar yang terbabit secara langsung dalam hiasan dalaman.
Selepas mengambil kira ilham unik dan kemahirannya mengadaptasi sumber alam dalam hiasan dalaman, usahawan perabot bambu, Mohd Ramadhan Abdul Hamid dari Batu 9, Cheras berjaya mengungguli kategori ini.
Pemilihannya juga berdasarkan kebolehannya mengetengahkan buluh sebagai tunjang struktur dan kemasan rumah bersama-sama perabot yang juga dibentuk daripada bahan semula jadi itu.

Competition Jury Chairman who is also Senior Lecturer Design and Interior Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Hamidon Abdullah expressed his admiration of the dedication and expertise of the participants.
Hamidon said, through observations, participants viewed successfully set up using a narrow room style furniture in a large number of partially coupled to the packaging and accessories refer to the style and concept.
